Contract Management
Half Day Intensive Training Course
Wednesday 18th November 2026 - GMT 13.30 - 17.00
51% of Procurement Professionals have never received formal training in Contract Management!
Yet contracts are fundamental to everything we do in Procurement. Get them right and you can unlock significant value, strengthen supplier relationships and protect your business. Get them wrong and the consequences can be catastrophic – lost value, costly disputes, supply disruption and potentially millions in losses.
The problem? Contract Management is often seen as a legal responsibility, rather than a core Procurement competency. Hence, it’s not trained properly.
It's time to change this.
In this practical, interactive half-day course, I’ll be joined by double platinum commercial lawyer Miles Barnes. We’ll guide you through the entire Contract Management lifecycle – from capturing requirements and negotiating contracts to managing performance, renewals and exits.
No unnecessary legal jargon. Just a simple, proven process, real-world examples and practical techniques to help you manage contracts with confidence.

FAQs
This course is designed for Procurement Professionals who create, negotiate or manage supplier contracts. It's particularly valuable for those who've had little or no formal Contract Management training, or who want to refresh and strengthen their skills. It's also suitable for Category Managers, Procurement Leaders and other professionals involved in managing supplier relationships.
The course is designed to be valuable for both developing and experienced Procurement Professionals. We start with the fundamentals before exploring more advanced commercial considerations, contractual risks and practical techniques. Whether you're relatively new to Contract Management or have been doing it for years, you'll take away valuable insights.
Absolutely not! We're not training you to become a lawyer. We're helping you become a more effective Procurement Professional. We'll explain key legal concepts and contractual clauses in plain English, focusing on what they mean commercially, what to watch out for and when to involve legal experts.
Yes! The underlying Contract Management Process is applicable across industries, categories and contract types. Whether you're buying raw materials, packaging, services, technology or capital equipment, the fundamental principles remain the same. We'll show you how to adapt the process to different commercial situations.
Many Contract Management courses focus heavily on the legal aspects of contracts. We take a broader, Procurement-led approach, covering the entire process from initial requirements through to renewal or exit. Our emphasis is on maximising commercial value, minimising risk and developing practical skills you can apply immediately.
AI is transforming Contract Management, from drafting and reviewing contracts to identifying risks and tracking obligations. But AI is only as valuable as your ability to use it effectively. You still need to understand the core principles, recognise commercial risks, challenge AI's recommendations and make sound judgements. AI can do much of the heavy lifting, but it can't replace your commercial accountability. This course gives you the knowledge and confidence to use AI intelligently, rather than blindly trusting its outputs.
The course is jointly delivered by Simon Frost, founder of Frost Procurement Adventurer, and Miles Barnes, a specialist commercial lawyer and Partner at Howes Percival. Together, we combine extensive hands-on Procurement experience with expert legal knowledge. Our approach is commercial, pragmatic and refreshingly free of unnecessary legal jargon.
The course is delivered as a live, interactive half-day session, combining structured teaching with practical examples, questions and discussions. We'll work through the entire Contract Management lifecycle, bringing the principles to life with a realistic supplier contract case study. This isn't a session where you simply sit and listen!
You'll gain a structured understanding of the end-to-end Contract Management Process, practical guidance on key contractual clauses and a wealth of tips from real-world Procurement and legal experience. Most importantly, you'll develop the confidence to make better contractual decisions, manage supplier agreements more effectively and know when to seek specialist legal support.
Yes - the course is open to anyone from any country around the World. And the tools, techniques and legal principles are applicable to all juridstictions
The training starts at 14.00 UK time GMT and runs for 3.5 hours. This is the optimal time for Europe, North America at the beginning of their day and Asia at the end of theirs. I recognise that this is the middle of the night for Australia and New Zealand. They are still welcome to attend by watching the videos, using the digital assets and working in pairs with other attendees.
Because getting contracts wrong can be extraordinarily expensive! Poorly drafted agreements, missed obligations, weak supplier performance and forgotten renewal dates can cost businesses substantial sums. Equally, well-managed contracts can unlock significant commercial value. Investing just half a day in developing this critical competency could pay for itself many times over.
And for you personally, step changing your contract knowledge should give you the confidence to management all the elements of the contract cycle far better than you do now
